Inspiration: A salesman struggled with alcohol. His career was so important to him that he often had to go out with his colleagues for a drink. This person also taught a class of children at his church and suddenly the thought hit him while he was drinking: "What if the children from my church class come into this bar and see me in this situation?" He finally took the issue to God in prayer and this scripture helped him to see that he might be causing other Christians to stumble. He stopped drinking. He started going to weekly Bible studies and grew stronger in Jesus’ authority to say NO in Jesus’ name to all sin temptations. He asks for Holy Spirit’s help to not please people but please God!

Inspiration: I was brought up to go to church weekly but the only time I praised God was during that one hour service. Later on, after I had committed my life to Jesus, I found that my walk with God was a personal relationship seven days a week and not just one hour a week event at a church service. My music used to be all secular but God gave me a love for praise music to adore Jesus. In this maturing process, I now see how this psalm says to bless and praise God at all times. Inspiration: I always prayed before meals at home but at work I found myself sometimes embarrassed to pray in front of others since the people at my table never prayed. Then when I saw someone else bow her head in silent prayer, I was convicted by the Holy Spirit that I was afraid of what people might say about me. Prayer: Heavenly Father, I ask forgiveness in times past for being ashamed to bow my head before a meal to thank you for the food, in a public setting, for fear of what others would think. Let everything I do bring glory to you. Please show me if there are any ways that need to be changed in my life so that I am not a people pleaser but do things to please you to let your name be magnified. In Jesus’ name I pray.

Inspiration: A teacher in our church said this scripture is important for prayer answers. She said that so many times people don’t receive answers because they don’t have the Bible scriptures abiding in their hearts. Thus, when they ask, they are not confident of God’s will since the Bible scripture that covers their case is not very real to them. Faith begins where the will of God is known reading it in the Holy Bible scriptures or praying long enough to clearly get Jesus’ direction!

Inspiration: My brother shed some light on this scripture to help people determine if they are trying to earn right standing with God by good deeds, or whether their love for God compels them to love others. He said: "If you are passionately in love with Jesus, you will automatically keep the commandments and do justly, since both will flow out of the abundance of love for God." If you find following God boring or you have become luke-warm, then you have forgotten that Jesus has rescued you from hell and given His life for you.
